Arms Control and Strategic Nuclear Forces Rs.1,095.00/-

Arms control is an umbrella term for restrictions upon the development, production, stockpiling, proliferation, and usage of weapons, especially weapons of mass destruction. Arms control treaties and agreements are often seen as a way to avoid costly arms races which would prove counter-productive to national aims and future peace. Some are used as ways to stop the spread of certain military technologies in return for assurances to potential developers that they will not be victims of those technologies.

Arms-control advocates generally take a more or less realistic approach to international relations, eschewing pacifism in a world they view as anarchic and as lacking any central authority for settling conflicts. Furthermore, whereas the objective of disarmament agreement is the reduction of elimination of weapons, arms-control agreements aim to encourage countries to manage their weapons in limited cooperation with each other. In quantitative terms, strategic nuclear arms reductions by U.S. and Russia have progressed well since the end of the Cold War.
