Aerodynamics is one of the three main pillars of an aircraft, the other two being propulsion and structures. While it is easy to understand and comprehend the latter two being visible, it is a bit too difficult to grasp aerodynamics or the `air' since it is invisible. This problem was experienced by the author when he was a student and to an even greater extent when he became a teacher!
‘Basic Aerodynamics' has been written to make the subject easy to understand, grasp and comprehend. It is especially for under-graduate (diploma) and graduate students of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. Suitable examples have been cited to make the subject matter lucid and clear. Another feature that makes the subject easy to assimilate is almost 140 diagrams and sketches, which amounts to more than one per printed page!
