This book is on a subject very dear to my heart. This is because, I feel that the officers and the enlisted sailors of the Indian Navy, are each and every one of them, gentlemen. I am very happy to have purchased this book, and the book prior to this one in the series. On first account, it seems that these books are among the best written accounts of any navy, leave alone the Indian Navy. I believe, all operations of the Indian Navy, have been described, and then an analysis of the result has been given. I would like the esteemed Author to also write a new volume on current times of the Indian Navy, after the advent of the indigenous nuclear submarine. The printing of the book, and the quality of the paper is first rate, but I have an issue with the binding.
I am currently reading the book, 'On Seas Contested', by O'Hara, Dickson, and Worth, published by the Naval Institute Press, and the two books, "The Indian Navy-Transition to Triumph, 1965-1975, and Transition to Eminence, 1976-1990", seem to be superior in content, though comparing the three books is not practical.
It seems that the French Navy was a conception due to necessity, while the modern Indian Navy is an organization well conceived, and her officers and those who serve the Indian Navy are among the most dedicated if not the most dedicated naval personnel ever to serve any navy.
I would whole-heartedly endorse this series of books, though I have yet to purchase the last one, which I will purchase.
