I tend to diverge from the view of Mr Hakim. There is no other book like 'Param Vir...' available. I am happy, that such a book is available for the people who are not serving in the Indian Armed Forces. A history of Param Vir awardees is very welcome, and I am sure that Lt Gen (Retd) Cardozo has written with passion on the subject. There are heroes like Lt Khetarpal who are not known at all, outside the armed forces. I did not know who Lt Khetarpal was, before I read the book. I want Mr Cardozo to write a book on the history of the Indian Army. It is sad, that India and Pakistan have had to do battle with each other. The Mahabharat has been played in numerous acts, since India and Pakistan gained independence. The Indian armed forces have great writers. Gen (Retd) V P Malik does not seem to be a person who would write a book. I am acquiring his book, "Kargil the true story". The header of the book is more appealing then the header of his second book on Kargil. If one reads the 'A Vision of Maritime India 2020' by Admiral Arun Prakash, then one is struck by the fact, that every soldier or sailor is really a scholar on his vocation at heart.
