Indo-Pak Relations: Glamour, Drama or Diplomacy? Rs.795.00/-

$35.00

This book examines the "Gordian Knot" of the perpetually conflicting "Indo-Pak relationship" (IPR)- including the origin and growth of the "Indo-Pak antagonism" (IPA) and the resultant "trust gap". Why the inherently faulty dream of Iqbal and Jinnah continues to irrigate the evil roots of the Pakistan's India fixation- and how communal and international shadows-- falling on the IPR, do not allow some energizing sun-light to fall upon this genetically weak relationship, is dwelt upon, uncommonly beautifully, in this work.

This book discards what is apparent and goes to the depths of the IPA?answering why its continuity is essential for the very existence of Pakistan. Why, without the glue of IPA, the nation of pure (Pak) runs the danger of crumbling like a ball of moist sand, is explained herein.

Further, it analyzes and lists the ten key ?stake-holders of Pakistan? which is topped by the Pak army and at its very bottom rests of public. This formation of the author postulates that, except for the Pakistani public, "Indo-Pak peace" is highly toxic to basic interests and well-being of its other nine stake-holders. Why and how the Pakistani army and its politicians and diplomats, under willing and /or unwilling collaboration by the other six stake-holders, raise unreasonable demands upon India?to make sure that no movement towards peace between the two neighbours is made in any meeting or conference, is exposed in a decisively convincing manner. How talks take place for the sake of talks?and participants shake hands or shout undiplomatically for the benefit of their respective audience and constituencies too is dwelt upon. Diplomats and politicians of the two conflicting nations often behave and act as well-rehearsed characters of an often staged drama.

How Pakistan brilliantly employs various truth and untruth, terrorism and threats of nukes ?to further its objectivity of pulling India down, often to destroy the very idea of a resurgent India, exploiting (and misleading) its international friends, Islamic and otherwise, and its ever ready non-state actors, is vividly explained in this work. And, in the last week of July, 2011, when it ran thin on options and international support, Pakistan employed a ?WMD of glamour? by sending its newly appointed young and stylish female foreign minister in the persona of Ms Hina Rabbani Khar. This introduction of an uncommon character in the drama of the Indo-Pak diplomacy, amongst others, was to imbalance the already not-so-efficient Indian diplomacy.

It was, decidedly, not an innocent act.
