The book is a story of tender and cruel human and social values, which has been woven around the life and times of an Indian intelligence agent. The political and social ambience depicted in the book have also been woven around the echoes of time though all the characters are fictitious. Any resemblance is accidental.
The real life agent did actually marry a wonderful Pakistani girl and raised a family. However, he was neutralized and incarcerated in Pakistan jails. His mother waits for him somewhere in Rajasthan.
The author who has spent decades in IB, was inspired to chronicle this story after perusing a bunch of letters that the Intelligence agent had managed to smuggle out to his mother and some accounts of his life shared by the silently suffering lady. The author has tried to portray, with literary liberty, the pathos of this tragic hero and the arrow of time that he walked past.
The present work is here for enthralling the readers with rare insights into the unsung warfare of espionage. Most of the events narrated in the book reflected the shadows of history of espionage between tan. These have been narrated with minor literary chiseling.
