We face many internal challenges, as we attempt to progress and seek to gain a rightful place in the regional and world affairs. There are basically three root causes for internal threats. These are miss governance, systemic corruption and the social and financial divide. These affects human resources in social, economic, technological, environmental and ecological development fields. Ultimately they lead to disruptive conditions or internal threats, like armed violence, basic scarcity, ethnic dissonance, weak governance and so on. High levels of internal turbulence attract external threats of on kind or another. Apart from the external threats, India faces the enormous task of safeguarding its national security from threats which have their roots at the domestic level since partition. India has faced the challenge of overcoming the causes which could divide the plural society. The task of national integration is not easy and its remains unachieved so for India's diversity of culture, language and religion give the country a distinct identify but, at the same time they have posed serious challenges to India's coherence, hence threat to internal security.
